Lelacoders es un proyecto de investigacción cyberfeminista acerca de la presencia de mujeres en el desarrollo de la informática así como el software/hardware libre.

una investigación que surge del deseo por elucidar ciertas preguntas afín de transformar la investigación en una reserva de conocimientos útiles para las personas preocupadas por las desigualdades de genero y, también, para las personas orientadas hacia la transformación social y política

un espacio para repensar la tecnología y sus representaciones, su vinculación con los cuerpos y las subjetividades así como sus relaciones con las nuevas formas de producción, de trabajo, afectos, identidades, conocimientos, deseos, sentimientos y acciones….

un estudio que parte del análisis de los datos, informaciones y investigaciones existentes a nivel internacional para acercarse a las practicas reales y cotidianas

una investigación que quiere hacerse eco de los proyectos, iniciativas y practicas personales y colectivas en relación con las tecnologías, pero sobre todo de las mujeres que participan y desarrollan actualmente las herramientas y tecnologías de la información y comunicación

una actitud critica porque queremos conocer y acceder al funcionamiento y mecanismos de las herramientas con las cuales trabajamos. Por ello, optamos para utilizar software libre, herramientas abiertas que faciliten el aprendizaje colectivo y doten de más autonomía en el trabajo cooperativo con las máquinas.

unas creaciones que se difunden bajo licencias libres porque creemos que compartir y distribuir libremente la información y el conocimiento facilita la transformación social y política.

un interés para identificar actitudes, representaciones y practicas que discriminan las mujeres en el mundo de las TICs (tecnologías de información y comunicación) desde las experiencias de mujeres que han conseguido sobrepasar estas desigualdades.

un recorrido visual, sonoro y cartográfico a las trayectorias, acciones, miradas y relatos como forma de trabajo políticamente activa

These are simply metal contacts — drawer knobs, threaded brass light fixture balls, whatever — that are wired to the pair of circuit-bending points. Each of the two circuit points goes to its own body-contact. Nothing is wired between them at all… no switches, potentiometers, sensors… nothing. These contacts, when mounted on the instrument’s case, are meant to be bridged by the player’s body. This placing of human flesh amidst the circuitry, now conducting electricity as surely as any other component on the board, turns the body into a potentiometer of sorts. A variable human resistor (but then, mustn’t we all be already?).

Body-contact circuitry points are discovered in the exact same way as the circuit-bending pairs… with a test lead system. However, instead of the alligator clip test lead grasping a small jeweler’s screwdriver at each end, you do. You simply hold a screwdriver in each hand. The search process is the same as before. The circuit makes its usual sounds while you listen to the changes that might occur due to the electricity now flowing into one screwdriver, through you, and out the other screwdriver back into the circuit. If good points are discovered, they are wired, as mentioned before, each to a metallic body-contact mounted on the instrument’s case. These can then be touched by the player, creating the same body-circuit as discovered with a screwdriver in each hand. 

Rarely is this electricity ever felt by the player. In a certain 9 volt amplifier, Reed’s first circuit-bent instrument, the body-contact system did deliver small shocks. But nothing like the static shocks of  wintertime carpet-strolling, or worse, the dangerous shocks that befall most musicians now and again from improperly grounded stage equipment. 

The important note here, however, mentioned before and worth repeating endlessly, is to try these circuit-bending techniques ONLY ON BATTERY-POWERED AUDIO DEVICES OPERATING ON AN ONBOARD BATTERY POWER SUPPLY OF 6 VOLTS OR LESS. Trying to circuit-bend anything plugged into the “house-current” of your AC wall outlet, directly or through an AC adapter (power supply, power converter, “wall wart”, etc.) is OUT OF THE QUESTION!!! NEVER TRY TO CIRCUIT-BEND ANYTHING PLUGGED INTO A WALL OUTLET.

collaboration into The NanoŠmano Lab

great experience with the NanoŠmano gang in Ljubliana !!!!!

The NanoŠmano Labs initiated in 2010 by Stefan Doepner (f18institute/Cirkulacija 2) and Marc Dusseiller (Hackteria.org) in collaboration with Kapelica Gallery (Ljubljana, Slovenia) offer a unique model but also setting and perspective on the use of nanotechnology in interdisciplinary science, art and design projects. In these temporary, ad hoc labs artists, hackers, scientists, and the lay public meet to perform rather than simply witness nanotechnological protocols. They collectively tinker and experiment outside the professional laboratory, in a gallery (2010), in a abandoned bar (2011) or in a community garden (2012), where they manage to ignore the typical function of a gallery setting, and define a new, liminal space of interactions and exchanges across disciplines, scales and practices.
